Accountant - Remote Position

Genesis10 is currently seeking an accountant for a major financial services company located in Milwaukee, WI. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. Compensation: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour.

This role involves performing day-to-day transactional accounting for the client's field offices nationwide. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including AP, commission processing, and period close activities. Key responsibilities include processing vouchers in JD Edwards, entering journal entries, and completing monthly reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform transactional accounting for the client's field offices
• Process vouchers, enter journal entries, and process commissions using JD Edwards
• Complete monthly period-closing reconciliations
• Assist with payroll and 1099 processing
• Train new contractors and maintain relationships with assigned offices
• Handle office-specific accounting projects as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, including journal entries (debits/credits)
• Proven ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Excellent professional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Able to commit to the position for at least one year

Desired Skills:

• Experience with the JD Edwards accounting system
• Experience with commissions processing
