Las Vegas Bariatrics is an accredited Bariatric Center of Excellence led by Dr. Bernie Hanna, a nationally recognized bariatric surgeon. We provide gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, duodenal switch, and medical weight loss services to patients throughout Las Vegas and Spring Valley, including many international and out-of-state patients. We're looking for a bilingual (English/Spanish) Medical Assistant to help us deliver compassionate, clear communication to our diverse patient community.

Job Summary
We're seeking a bilingual Spanish-speaking Medical Assistant to support our clinical team and provide excellent patient care to our Spanish-speaking patients before, during, and after their weight loss journey. You'll work directly with patients, physicians, and staff to ensure smooth intake, documentation, and communication throughout the treatment process.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vitals, and prepare them for physician visits
• Translate and interpret for Spanish-speaking patients during appointments and phone calls
• Assist with pre-op and post-op patient education in both English and Spanish
• Take patient histories and update EMR/patient charts accurately
• Assist with minor procedures and clinical tasks as directed by the physician or NP
• Answer patient questions regarding insurance, scheduling, and pre/post-surgical instructions
• Coordinate with front office and billing staff to ensure smooth patient flow
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
• Assist with lab draws, injections, and other clinical duties within scope of practice

Qualifications

• Fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken and written) — required
• Medical Assistant certification or relevant clinical experience preferred
• Prior experience in a medical office, bariatric, or surgical practice a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable with EMR systems (AdvancedMD experience a plus)
• Detail-oriented, organized, and compassionate with patients
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
