CARE offers a number of prevention programs which provide information and strategies to help the community manage health and safety. We are looking for a passionate individual to delivery substance abuse trainings to local schools and community organizations.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, family ecology, consumer/community services, family studies, family and/or child development, guidance/school counseling, counseling psychology, education, public health, human services, or criminal justice. Must have a registered development plan with CARE after employment begins, to be certified as a Prevention Consultant or Prevention Specialist (CPC-R or CPS) Possess a valid motor vehicle operator license.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Market substance use presentations to schools, community and faith-based organizations located in communities served by CARE of SEM. Coordinate and/or assist with agency summer camp (s). Ensures assigned paperwork is completed and maintained in accordance with funding source standards and CARE of SEM policy and procedures. Demonstrates full comprehension of management by objective (MBO) plan and meets quality programmatic standards. Completes activities associated with assigned MBO hours in a timely fashion and complete total assigned MBO hours. Provide presentations on general substance use issues and CARE of SEM's services as needed. Facilitate educational classes/groups related to programming as needed. Disseminate substance use information at health and public fairs, school open houses and other community events as requested. Establish and maintain liaison relationships with appropriate agencies regarding substance use prevention.
